Terrible Japan
Is this country's future really going to be okay?
How many people are even thinking about it?
Rising taxes, a record-low birth rate.
The people who made Japan's great history and kept its economy running are passing away.
We live in an era where individuals stand out, and society lets each of us get by on our own. That's a good thing in itself.
But what about the next generation? Is it enough that only my own life is rich? Is it the country's fault?
Why don't we move ourselves?
As a student I cared about almost nothing but programming and music, so there's a lot I only learn about famous people after they're gone.
The American spirit: short-tempered and fiercely independent.
That hacker spirit, combined with the attention to detail of Japanese companies.
Japan knows how to value detail and beauty.
But the leaders who will make this country succeed need to work fast, like a charcoal sketch, fixing things while their hands keep moving.
While still valuing those things, of course.
I've taken plenty of detours, and I've made mistakes.
This year, I'm going to move for real and do the work.
Hoping for a good wind.
I'm happy, but three quarters of it is a pain.
Freedom is unfreedom.
If you launch your own product and build things while hacking, you're definitely more likely than most to make a living doing what you love.
And actually, so are you.
Just do it.
With my beloved cat.
